I'm back and I'm looking forward to X'mas!

Christmas is drawing near and I'm feeling excited as each day passes. I've been going out to shop for my x'mas clothings and accessories. I'm yet to get presents and make cards for my friends. I always love this time of the year. With the common test done and 2 weeks of rest it is certainly a period for the rejuvenation of the mind and body. Cast away school work! It's time to party!

Apart from shopping and just lazing around, I've been out quite often with my buddies Clement and Aaron in the night. As Aaron had already gotten his driving licence( quite sometime ago), he drove us out during those nights to Jalan Kayu where we have roti prata followed by pool and Hg plaza. It's really fun to travel around in the night since there are lesser vehicles on the road and travelling from place to place would thus be faster. That's also becoz Aaron like to "drive fast" lol.

2 weeks ago, Jas and I celebrated Rita's bday in school. The celebration didn't last very long since I arrived quite late and they had to go for their SFG tutorial. Nevetheless it was still memorable and congrats Rita...you've turned 19. =D

It's been awhile

I've not blogged for a mth and many things have happened thus far. Most of the projects have been cleared but there are still somemore to clear. There is PCT test tmr and bio enterprise presentations on saturday. The timetable of MB students is so screwed up. There is so much to do and so little breathing space. However there are still hardcore students who made it to the top with perfect or near perfect gpa score and awards were given out to these ppl on 8 August during the pre-NDP celebration. Projects I've cleared was the proteomics presentation, mbid report and comm skills interview session. We had the proteomics presentation last week and it went quite well. The comm skills interview session was interesting and we had to dress in our formal attire.

Formal attire

Though it seemed like a hectic week, I spent my weekends with my buddies Clement and Aaron. We went to watch the wcg WC3 finals and followed by shopping and movie at Marina. We watched a horror movie titled "alone" which I agreed to watch due to pressure lol. The thriller I saw was scary but after watching the movie...I found it kinda lame. lol

I had my choir retreat this morn and it was a fruitful one. We had games, a talk and a vocal session. Though the turnout was small, it still went smoothly and nicely. It was a gd bonding and learning session. After the retreat, I went home to watch the NDP. This year's NDP seem to be more enjoyable to watch as it had all the dramatic elements. This year, they get to feature water activities which include the hovering of the chinook over the water of the sg river and dropping divers into the river. They even have 'close encounters' in which armed personnels appeared in the midst of the crowd. The smoke was an added thrill to the people present at the ND parade. The events they had this year are more captivating than the previous. Indeed it was a brilliant spectacle of sparkles and water.

The final exams will commenced on 21st August and will end on the 29th. ~sigh~

Summary of the previous week

During the study break - Bioenterprise bazaar

The bazaar was held at the staff recreation centre somewhere near the north canteen. We were supposed to sell our products to the nyp staff. We managed to sell a few products due to the support of our bioenterprise lecturers and a member from another group.

CT week

I had the common test druing the whole of last week. I had to take 6 modules in 5 days without having any breaks in between. The first 3 papers, proteomics, Drug Development and MBID were ok. Esp DD since it was the easiest among the rest. SFG was tough and the last 2 papers I didn't study much. They were PCT and a business module. It was a tiring week cos everyday after school, I would go over to the condo where Eugene live to study. There Gabriel, Eugene and I would study from afternoon to night except Thursday. Some of the days we had sushi for our meals and the salmon sushi we got from Hg Point tasted good.

1st July

I went to town with Clement and Aaron to shop. We went to Far East first where Aaron and I ate. Then Clement started shopping for his T-shirts. Clement and I also got our bags from the Zinc shop at Far East's basement. We got the same design but different colours. There was this particular shop where we went and the promoters were very ah beng. The language they used were very very very singlish(note the emphasis). The thing I dislike most was that they kept pressure on their customers by constant recommendations and asking us to buy. It wasn't good as it doesn't allow us, customers, to view at our own leisure and decide whether if we would want to buy. Besides if we needed help, we had the mouth to ask. Sheesh!

After that we went to Heeren where I got my new pair of shoes from Converse. I spent an extra $30 to get my membership card. haha! Our last stop was Cine. Clement got his polo-T from there. It was about evening time when we left for home. I got my dinner at CP's food court. The corona chicken rice was yummy =)

WoW

I've been playing WoW with kenny and Eugene. Kenny's using a warlock and Eugene should be using Mark's priest. Do hope to have end game experience. haha!

A week ago -2nd/3rd June-

2nd

I've given up on my desktop computer. After consulting ZK, I conclude that it had suffered hardware damages. I need to get WoW ready so that I don't waste my $$ cos I had pumped in the pre-paid card. Therefore I went to Sim Lim Square in the morn to get the 1gb ram for my IBM laptop.
I cantored during mass and this time I didn't feel as stress as the previous times. Perhaps I'm getting attuned to it. The music for the psalm was composed by Peter. It is the nicest psalm among the 3 which I had sung.
After mass, I went to Clement's hse and ZK came over to help me insert the ram. We then went to the market near my grandma's place to have our dinner. We ordered the wanton noodles. The stall has been there since my childhood days. That place holds alot of memories which I had with my childhood buddies.

3rd

I met up with Jas and Rita on Sunday afternoon. Rita and I reached the interchange first so we sat there and wait for Jas. We intended to go Pulau Ubin for lunch and this was a long awaited trip. However due to the hot weather, we had a change of plans and decided to go Tampines Mall to watch movie and eat. We had dinner at Pasta Mania followed by watching Pirates of the Carribbean 3. We parted after the movie as I had to meet my aunts and bro for dinner at Sakae Sushi @ Kovan.

This weekend

I went to IHM for the Serangoon District LMC meeting on Saturday morn. It was kinda bored to go alone. It wasn't an unfamiliar place to me since I had been there before. Representatives from the other choirs of Nativity were also there. I felt the meeting wasn't productive at all or maybe it's just because I don't know what to ask or discuss about. I was waiting for the meeting to end cos I was very hungry yet they still dragged on another 30mins. We celebrated Corpus Christi this weekend. Our choir wore the new red choir polo T which was very nice. We then went to have dinner at 401 after mass.

I went to my aunt's house to do chores and it was the last cleaning I had to do. I'm freed from the bonds of the agreement!! wooohoo!! I'm free!! I accompanied my family to have lunch at Sakae Sushi. I had a satisfying meal =)

My 2weeks study break has begun. I really wan2 do well for this CT. 9modules..I need to pray that I don't lose my sanity after studying.

I'm still waiting for Eugene to return from his Penang trip and WoW!

My 5 days of the week weren't so great...

During our bioenterprise meeting on Monday morning, we discussed about how we were going to get about promoting and marketing it. However it seems that the person we are working with isn't very cooperative. Things aren't moving on and it has been stagnant since 2 weeks ago.

On Tuesday, there wasn't any lectures from 9-12. We only had to go for the proteomics lab which took us 1 more hour. Earlier I had breakfast with Eugene and we bought our WoW addon card. My comp wasn't really in a gd state though...however I still pumped in the card and played.

Then came Wednesday, a short schooling day for us since lessons end at 12. I went home to play WoW but had some prob starting the comp....and it got worse as another day passes. Well...in the evening I went to meet up with Clement for dinner and gym.

Thursday - Vesak Day

Clement, Aaron and I went to town to shop for clothings. The weather was very hot and humid and it made me felt uncomfortable. Beads of perspiration and oil all over my face....argh! Initially we wanted to catch a movie but they weren't so keen to watch Pirates of the Carribean. Therefore we went to shop only. We went to various stores and I was persuading them to eat as we went along. I was already feeling hungry at 5 since I only had breakfast. I managed to grab a small bite and we continued "window" shopping(Since Clement couldn't find the clothing he wants). I didn't have much cash with me to shop for the clothings I want so I just browse around. We then had dinner at LJS in Cine. After that we left for home. When I got home, my bro told me that the comp kept restarting. I thought it was only a small prob and I could fix it. Sadly...I was wrong.

Friday

School ended early too. There wasn't any proteomics lab and after my lecture, Eugene and I went to the comp lab to finish up our reports. Forgetful me, left out the introduction for the experiment 4. I handed in anyways...since I discovered it after printing. I went home with great eagerness to play WoW. Disappointed was I when I couldn't fix the comp even after resorting to formatting it. I have to think of alternatives to play it as I don't wan2 waste my money.

I went for choir pract in the night. We practised hymns for tmr and for next week as well. As I was the cantor for tmr's mass, I had to sing my psalm. It wasn't my best I know. Feedback was that I slang too much on certain words. It wasn't my intention, perhaps it has become a habit. Nevertheless I'm going to unslang....

Things I'm waiting for...

1. Checkup at the NSC (national skin centre)
2. Cutting hair
3. To play WoW again!

Recalling the things I did this week

I went to the gym at Eugene's condo on Tuesday. There wasn't many machines there. I did about 4 sets and I went off to meet Jacq for dinner. My arms began to ache badly for the next few days. My left arm especially for it hurt for a longer period of time as compared to the right. haha! my master hand!

On Thursday, Kenny, Eugene and I went to Orchard during our break. We went to cine where we slacked at the food court. After that, we went to the Apple shop. We had lots of fun there! Kenny showed us a program in which a mac has. It's a "comic making" program. Firstly, you can choose the layout of the comic strip. Then you can put the photos into the boxes/shapes typical of those in comics... Since the macs now have in-built cams, we decided to have fun. We took picts of ourselves and made 3 strips. Kenny added the speech bubble and we went to look at the lappys. Before leaving the store, we went back to see if the salesperson there did delete the page. To our surprise, he didn't. He was standing infront of the computer..somewhat admiring our art. He even to his mobile phone out! Probably taking a photo? haha!

We then went to Lucky Plaza where we had our lunch at Macs. Then we went back to school for DD. Then stayed till 8 for our business elective.

Saturday - Pentecost!

Finally, after much practice and waiting, we managed to deliver "festival sanctus". Feedback was good. There's a new addition to our choir! Steven! He came to join us for pract on Friday as well for mass too. We also have Nicholas who is doing his immersion program with us. Do hope that they'll stay.
When mass ended, we went to the choir room where we got our new choir polo T shirts. The colours and logo are so nice! The logo was specially designed by Vincent.

We went to 322 to have dinner. Since our group was quite big, we took 2 tables. The all-ladies table ordered the hor fun dry + egg. It was amusing to see all of them getting the same stuff in which I got a week or so ago. Alice was the only one that wasn't eating since she's the super healthy kinda person. Then at our table, Yvonne was the only gal with us. So usual we chatted and enjoyed ourselves. SRC is indeed very special...a place of great warmth!

18th May

Salve Regina Choir gathering!

After mass, our choir had our gathering at the greenhouse. Each of us brought our own food. I brought an apple strudel and a mango strudel which I got it a day before at Kovan. Peter prepared fried bee hoon for us and it tasted absolutely great! It was very fragrant. I didn't really expect it to taste so good cos it didn't occur to me that Peter knows how to cook so well!

I was standing around the food area and I kept myself busy with the food. There were prata, shepherd's pie, pizza, sushi and lots of other kinds of food. Then Elvie passed me her camera which I then walked around taking photos.

Then came the game session organised by Joyce. We were sitting in a circle and she passed a bowl of papers around in which everyone has to pick 1 slip of paper from it. The paper contained a word and we had to use it to continue a story. It didn't seem very fun but when we looked at the word on our slips of papers, there were laughters pouring out from people already. Examples of such words are " shit, hot pants, horny" etc. hahah! It was a night filled with joy and laughter. It was a good time for our new comers too. At least they have a chance to experience fun with us.

Jess, me, Elvina & mel
